Remote Desk

The Remote Desk feature within the EPS (Endpoint Security) web platform provides administrators with a powerful tool for remote access and control of client machines. This functionality is comparable to popular remote access software such as TeamViewer and AnyDesk, designed to streamline administrative tasks and support.

Key Capabilities and Workflow

  1. Effortless Remote Control: Administrators can seamlessly take control of client machines, enabling efficient troubleshooting, maintenance, and support from a centralized web platform.
  2. Simple Access and Configuration:
    • To initiate a remote connection, select the target client machine.
    • Configure the necessary remote settings for the connection.
    • Verify the ‘Remote ID’ column to ensure that a unique Remote ID has been generated for the client machine.
    • Machines that are ready for remote access will have their names highlighted in blue, indicating their availability.
  3. Client Consent Mechanism (Default):
    • Upon clicking the highlighted machine name, a prompt will appear requesting confirmation to seek client consent.
    • If ‘Yes’ is selected, a pop-up notification will appear on the client machine, asking for the user’s permission to establish the remote connection.
    • If the client grants permission by clicking ‘Yes,’ the remote connection will be successfully established.
    • If the client declines, remote access will not proceed, respecting user privacy and control.
  4. Direct Administrator Control (Optional):
    • For scenarios where immediate access is critical and client consent is not a prerequisite (e.g., pre-configured administrative access, specific policy settings), administrators have the option to take direct control of client machines. This ensures uninterrupted workflow and immediate resolution of issues.
  5. Seamless File Sharing:
    • The Remote Desk feature facilitates efficient file transfer. Administrators can easily send and receive files to and from client machines, streamlining the delivery of updates, documents, or tools required for specific tasks.
