This section details how to manage NPAV’s virus protection Shield settings. These settings, which include Application Control Service, Online Shield Service, and Optimize, allow users to enable or disable features as needed.
Configuring Shield Settings
To apply settings for any of the Shield features, follow these general steps:
- Navigate to Policy > Shield tab.
- Select the checkbox next to the desired service.
- Choose the appropriate option from the dropdown menu.
- Click Save and Next.
Application Control Service
Manage the execution and behavior of applications on your system.
Online Shield Service
Protect your system from online threats by monitoring internet activity.
Optimize
Enhance system performance through various optimization features.
Privacy Control & Check Cleaner
Control your privacy settings and clean unnecessary data from your system.
SMB LAN Sharing
Manage settings related to file and printer sharing over your local area network (LAN) using the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol.
Application Lock Down Mode (LDM)
Restrict applications to a predefined set of functionalities for enhanced security.
Self Protection
Enable or disable NPAV’s self-protection mechanisms to prevent unauthorized tampering with the antivirus software.
All Alerts Popup
This setting controls whether pop-up alerts are displayed for all detected security events.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an essential layer of security to your Windows logins. When enabled, in addition to your password, a second form of verification is required, significantly enhancing the security of your system access.
Self Protection
Self Protection is a critical feature designed to safeguard the antivirus files and processes from unauthorized modification or termination by malware or other malicious attempts.
Wi-Fi Monitoring
Wi-Fi Monitoring ensures that your system only connects to trusted Wi-Fi networks. Any untrusted or unrecognized Wi-Fi connections will be automatically blocked, protecting your device from potential threats on insecure networks.
File/Folder Protection
This feature allows you to define specific protection levels for your files and folders. You can select from the following options:
- All Access Denied: Prevents all forms of access (read, write, modify, delete) to the selected files or folders.
- Restrict From Modification: Allows read access but prevents any modifications (writing, deleting, or renaming) to the selected files or folders.
- Disable: Turns off all specific protection for the selected files or folders, allowing standard system access.
