How to configure Application Policy? [EPS Cloud]

Application Control Policy


Application Control is a very powerful tool used to block particular applications.

This feature is used in Endpoint Security (EPS - Admin Console).

The main purpose of this tool is to increase the productivity of the organization. This is done by blocking those applications which are not important for the organization.

An administrator can block unwanted applications and permit access only to approved once.

The applications running in connected PCs in a particular network can be viewed in Endpoint Security Server

An administrator can easily block or allow any applications.

Create policies as per the department and apply that policy.

An administrator can check the policy assigned date and applied date in the End Point Security.

Manage all the applications without visiting the client PC.

An administrator can manage the application control from the web or from local server PC.

How can we achieve this?


You need to follow the below steps to implement the application control in your organization.

Step 1 : Select the policy from 'Policy Management' tab from the End point security dashboard.

Step 2 : To import launch process report from client system go to Policy Management tab -> Select policy -> Report -> Select App control info check box -> Select ON from dropdown -> Click on Update Policy.

If you don't want OS process then select Ignore OS File checkbox.

After update policy client launch process get imported in Report tab.

Step 3 : To block specific apps select Allow all except block list mode,

To block particular application from report go to Application policy tab -> select policy from policy dropdown -> search application name from -> select application check box -> Enter reason to block application -> Click on block apps button -> Click on Apply policy.

Step 4 : Blocked app will get added in Blocked Apps tab.

Step 5 : To remove application which is present in Blocked Apps list,

Go to Blocked Apps list -> Select application -> Enter apps unblocked reason -> Click on Unblock Apps -> Click on Apply policy.

Step 6 : To block application using pattern .

In this feature user can block all applications which are having same pattern.

Go to application policy tab -> Select policy -> Select Blocked Pattern tab -> click on add pattern button.

Enter Process path, Company Name, Internal Name, Product Name, 

After add pattern click on Apply button.

To remove blocked pattern, Select pattern from Blocked Pattern tab and click on delete pattern button.

Step 7 : To block all apps and allow only specific apps select Block all except allow list mode.

This mode blocks all applications except the operating system and Net protector Endpoint security.

System Admins can add the blocked application to White List.

To allow specific apps add only application name or application full path in App White List tab and click on add button .

After add application click on Apply button.

Step 8 : To allow some application create golden application white list image using whitwappdbc.exe and import AppWListDB.csv file.

This will allow all golden application for that corpID.

Step 9 : To view block application report.

Go to Report tab -> Select App blocked report -> Select ip

Blocked Type :

Block all except allow list : SFLDM 

Blocked Pattern : Pattern
