How to Configure Parental Control ?

Parental Control Parental Control Provides Complete Monitoring While Accessing Computer By Standard User Especially When Particular System Account Used By Children.

Parent can easily able to restrict internet access for there children , For that parent account need to be administrator to apply settings regarding

1. Internet Browsing Control
2. YouTube Access Manager
3. Screen Time Control
4. Application Control
5. GPS Child Locator

How To Create Parental Control Account ?

Step 1 - launch NPAV Dashboard

Step 2 - Go to Web Security Tab

Step 3 - Click On Parental Control

Step 4 - Enter Username, Password, and Email ID to Create Account

Step 5 - Enter Username And Password to Login Into Parental Control

After the creation of the account admin user need to log in and browse the features of NP Parental Control

Features of Parental Control :

1. Internet Browsing Control

Parental users can able to control internet access for all users with internet browsing control, also URL blocking for particular categories (Adult, Alcohol, Political, Malicious Sites, etc.) can be done

A. Parent user can able to block particular URL access for child users (Type - Allow All Except Block List)

By adding exact keyword , all domains consisting that keyword gets blocked. (Type - Allow All Except Block List)

i. Click on Add Blocking Keyword option

ii. Enter keyword you wish to block

iii. Click on Add icon

iv. After adding keyword click on Save button

B. User can able to schedule or set time slots on which child user can able to access the internet.

C. User can check category of any domain by following below steps

1. Click on check category button & wait for DBs to load
2. After DBs loaded successfully, enter domain
3. Click on Find Category option

D. After category check , user can enable that category from Category List to Block or Allow domains from selected category

1. Select user from username dropdown & type as "Allow All Except Block List'
2. Turn on category control toggle & select category for blocking
3. Save Settings
4. Open browser & hit domain from selected category
5. Block page shown with category name & category ID of domain

2. YouTube Access Manager

Parental user can easily allow or block specific category content to show on YouTube , also allow or block video categories

A. User can able to select categories for blocking of youtube videos or add channel name to block list

1. Select user from username dropdown & type as "Allow All Except Block Category Channel Or Publisher'
2. Select category to block from categories UI
3. If user want to block particular channel then click on block list and enter channel name and save setting

B. If any YouTube video block as per setting given then block page shown and reports view on UI

1. To check report click on view report button present on YouTube access control UI

3. Screen Time Control

Parental users can able to control screen access for all users with screen time control, also for specific time screen should be accessible to a child user

A. By default after enabling screen time control feature , setting is always allow access to PC

B. In allow access to PC as per schedule 3 different modes,

1. Give access to screen on hourly limit (like 2 hours , 3 hours etc.)

2. Time slots wise (like 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM)

3. Flexible time slots (like 2:25 PM to 3:10 PM)

Before 5 mins, Screen Time Control shows alert message on user PC (Your timeslot is going to end in next 5 min)

4. Application Control 

Parental user can able to control application access for all users with application control , also for particular applications blocking is possible

A. By selecting type parent user can able to apply setting for any user present in system

B. Add particular application or applications in block list for blocking while other all applications are accessible.

C. Category wise application blocking can be done using category control also if parental user want to exclude any application of selected category or any other application then add in exclude list

Block Application By Enabling Category-

1. Select username
2. Select type as "allow all except block list"
3. Enable category control, select 1 category & save setting
4. Now try to open application which is inside that category
5. Application restricted & popup shown

Exclude Application From Category Which Is Selected For Blocking -

1. Select username
2. Select type as "allow all except block list"
3. Enable category control , select 1 category
4. Click on exclude list option & add application from selected category for exclusion
5. Try to launch application which is present in exclude list

5. GPS Child Locator

Parental user can able to check location on child user and also view domains accessed by child user through my account viewer.

A. Enable GPS Child Locator from UI & then login on myaacount.npav.net to view location
